    Technical Presales Specialist | High Tech Machinery | Retail | Remote Working

    Our client is a Global Organisation with a turnover in excess of $1 billion worldwide, and around 3600 employees, they are now moving into a new phase of their growth within the UK.  They have an exciting investment programme to grow, building on the success of their industrial business, they are now moving forward to take their exciting products into the retail, hospitality and logistics sectors and expanding their presence in the UK market.  Their team are based on their site near Cambridge.

     

    Reporting into their Head of Technology, the Technical Presales Specialist will play a

    foundational role in establishing their presence within the UK retail market. Developing and

    utilising relationships with customers to offer them a best-in-class solution to enhance

    consumer experiences. Working alongside Retail Sales to design solutions for the sector and then

    in turn delivering them to the market.

     

    The role

    The Technical Presales Specialist for Retail performs the major functions listed below. You will also work closely with the Product Development and Sales Teams on scoping out the works and installation and delivery.

    • Lead design of all software and hardware solutions within independent retail sector and present them to the sales team on an ongoing basis. Ensure solutions launched are sustainable, fit for purpose and supportable in the field.
    • Support Sales Team in the field in offering solutions to the market. Assist in demonstrations and presentations and create opportunities where possible
    • Support Retail Solutions Manager and Head of Retail Sales in all Key Account opportunities.
    • Work closely with Service team to ensure knowledge base is shared and that they can lead installations and after care moving forward
    • Sell service at the point of sale – be part of developing a contract portfolio suitable for the market. Build and develop a customer training and support revenue stream.
    • Assist Retail Sales in building and growing a third-party supplementary offering to the market
    • Being the technical liaison between administration, the customer and scheduling to ensure that the customer receives what they expected and that the Service team are prepared.
    • Assist with remote support of Software
    • Attending and where appropriate exhibiting at trade shows and events.
    • Provide support for all staff in keeping with the businesses values, policies, and procedures
    • Complete all documents required by the company policies and procedures
    • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary to achieve the objectives of the Retail Solutions team and the business goals.
    • Working within Health & Safety procedures and Risk Assessment guidelines at all times.

     

    Skills Required

    • Excellent operational knowledge of Excel.
    • Good knowledge of network systems
    • Mechanical and Software fault finding experience
    • Experience in writing work instructions and service fix documentation
    • Ability to work well within a large cross functional team
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with both internal, external and potential customers.
