    Finance Manager

    Our client is an established and leading FMCG business in the UK with a well-known and successful international brand into the major Multiple Retailers and distribution channels throughout Europe & the Middle East. With a strong reputation for innovation and quality, the company is a leading player across its sector, with a strong portfolio of quality branded products.

     

    As part of their ongoing strategic development plan, they currently have an exciting opportunity for a driven and commercially focused individual to join the business as Finance Manager.

     

    Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to take ownership and responsibility of the Finance & IT functions, overseeing the team’s development. Additionally, this will also provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the overall commercial success of the business. The successful Finance Manager will be initiative-taking with excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills together with the ability to lead and collaborate with a multi-functional team. Already an experienced finance professional you will be able to demonstrate a good level of success in your career to date whilst also partnering with the senior management team.

     

    Overall Objectives of the role

     

    To support the commercial objectives of the business by delivering overall excellence in financial control, reporting and analysis, and IT services and development.

     

    Key responsibilities:

    • Management of 2 departments; Finance and IT. These departments presently comprise 3 employees including 2 direct reports on one site
    • Full responsibility for financial reporting to the MD for two operating companies.
    • Full responsibility for the financial control of these companies including credit control, control of payments and bank accounts
    • Production of monthly financial forecasts and annual budgets
    • Reviewing forecasts on a regular basis to highlight areas of concern and opportunity that require focus with ongoing liaison with the commercial team to validate financial forecasts
    • Managing foreign exchange and hedging requirements
    • Managing banking and insurance relationships
    • Managing financial aspects of the company’s property
    • Liaison with defined benefit pension scheme advisors
    • Payroll responsibility
    • Contributing to the improvement of systems and processes
    • Liaison with company auditors and tax advisors
    • Overseeing of the IT function, services and team, plus management of the Company’s IP portfolio in conjunction with the Marketing team
    • Coordination of ad hoc HR projects and issues and liaising with external service providers

     

    Specific requirements considered essential for the role:

    • Suitable professional finance qualification -AAT Level 4, ACCA, or CIMA Qualified.
    • Qualified by Experience will be considered
    • Have strong relevant experience at a senior level
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain relationships both internal and external
    • Strong organisational ability
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Analytical proficiency with the ability to manipulate data effectively and accurately with a high level of attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills
    • Knowledge of SAP Business 1 databases would be beneficial. Some knowledge SQL for report writing and amendment will be helpful
    • Corporation tax and payroll taxes understanding
    • Full UK driving license
    • Ideally live within a 1-hour commute from our offices in Suffolk
