Java Spring Engineer | Online Gaming | Hybrid Role

The Role

They are now seeking a motivated and skilled Java Spring Engineer to join their team in a young dynamic company. Your primary responsibility will be to build and enhance systems that support their clients’ online gaming businesses. You will have the opportunity to use your Java Spring experience to assist the team in achieving company objectives. Your trouble shooting skills and the ability to work independently on set tasks will make you a strong candidate for this position. This is a great opportunity to work with gaming software on a high volume and low latency system with exposure to lots of new technologies, working practices and the ability to take a lead role on upcoming projects.

Role responsibilities

• Deliver solutions against written business requirements and technical specification documents as directed
• Investigate, analyse and document reported defects.
• Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.
• Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses.
• Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates.
• Build and design Java applications
• Integrate a series of third-party APIs

• Demonstrate ability to pick up new skills and techniques

Skills, experience, Qualifications

Must have:

• At least 4 years development experience in a commercial setting.
• Previous experience with Restful APIs, Web services and Micro-services.
• Previous experience with Spring Framework.
• Be a good Communicator and have good Interpersonal skills.
• Have good Analytical Skills.
• Experience with problem solving.
• Database design and SQL knowledge.

Nice to have:

• Understanding of front-end web technologies such as HTML / CSS / Forms
• Gaming industry experience
• Experience with Agile/ SCRUM/ TDD methodologies
• Experience of Unit Testing with Java
• Knowledge of multi-threaded development is preferred
• GIT / TFS / SVN
• JIRA / Continuous Integration and Jenkins
• High-transactional or high throughput systems
• Scalable, highly available systems
• Highly concurrent systems including multithreaded application development
• Messaging technologies such as Rabbit MQ
• Degree in IT discipline
